Sew Grateful Week Giveaway

Hello Everyone! As you may know, today is the start of Sew Grateful Week, which is being hosted by Debi of My Happy Sewing Place. This is a chance for everyone to share their thankfulness for the wonder that is the online sewing community, and everyone else who supports them in their love of sewing.

In the year since I have started sewing and crafting, i have been really blown away by the generosity of the online sewing community. There is so much support available, and everyone is so quick to offer help or advice and to share their own experiences with people that they have never met. Bloggers are also eager to share the joy of sewing through giveaways and swaps. Special mention must go to the lovely Dibs, who so kindly sent me a pair of suede flowers after i admired them on her blog. Thanks Dibs! Because I am rubbish I have yet to do anything with them yet - but I have plans, promise!

Such a huge part of my learning this year has been through tutorials and sewalongs hosted by sewists who so generously offer up their time. For example, Tasia of Sewaholic Patterns provides excellent sewalongs which are so packed full of tips and information. I had no idea of the wealth of information available on sewing blogs, but I am so, so (sew!) grateful for it.

This year, I am keen to give back to the sewing community. So for Sew Grateful Week, I will be hosting my very first giveaway! This gorgeous print is a cotton lawn which was bought with a Pendrell in mind, however at the last minute I changed my mind. I could stash it, but in the interests of stash-busting (another one of my aims for the year!) I am going to pass it on to someone else.

Hopefully you can see the print here. There is 2 metres of this fabric, and it is quite wide - my tape measure says about 55" which sounds like a slightly odd measurement to me but there we go..! It should be more than enough for a top, or maybe even a skirt. To enter this giveaway all you need to do is be a follower of my blog, and leave a comment below saying what you are grateful for by MIDNIGHT (UK time) on SUNDAY 12TH FEBRUARY. I will pick the winner with the help of a random number generator next Monday. Good luck everyone!

K xx

  4. I don't usually enter giveaways (as my own stash is already an embarrassment of riches) but I love, love, love that fabric.

I have tons of vintage patterns set aside for giveaway, and have for months. I need to get to it!

  6. I've just subscribed to your blog on Google Reader. I found it through a link on My Happy Sewing Place. I'm learning to sew with the ultimate aim of making clothes, so I'm really inspired to see what you've made after sewing for only a year. I'm so grateful for the support of my lovely crafting friends who've been answering all my annoying questions about sewing!

  7. Thanks for an amazing giveaway! I'm grateful for a wonderful sewing community in blogland - I don't have any 'face-to-face' friends close by that sew, so I'm very grateful for my online friends!

  18. Thanks for such a lovely giveaway! I follow you on Bloglovin' but thought I'd add my name to Google Friends as well just in case!
I'm grateful for the same as you really - this amazing sewing community. I don't have any RL friends who sew, so it's wonderful to be able to share my hobby with likeminded folk online!

  19. Wow, stunning fabric!!!
I've got so many things to be grateful for, but to mention one, it has to be the fact that sewing your own clothes results in clothes that actually fit my obviously somewhat weird body measurements!
(I am a follower, however not as Miss Meetah but with my real name Maritha.)

  20. Such a cute print. I can't resist florals! I'm 'sew' grateful for a lot of things, I have an amazing mother-in-law who also sews, and we regularly get to bond over what patterns/fabrics we've used recently. I'm also grateful to have my own sewing space now rather than a corner of the living room!

  24. Blogland is pretty much my number one favorite too...I've learned so much out here in the wide internet world. Supremely grateful.

  25. I am grateful for the great big online knowledge base (that includes you and all the other wonderful sewing and knitting bloggers out there). I remember that as a child my mother had a great big sewing library and encyclopaedias of stitches and embroidery alphabets, not to mention descriptions of all the various skills one might use. I don't have to have that huge a library (which is good because I've moved internationally thrice in the past 10 years)... I have wonderful tutorials, examples and downright personal help all at my fingertips. So, thank you!

  26. Gorgeous fabric!

At the moment, I'm grateful for rainy Saturday's, as it means I have a good excuse to shut myself up with my sewing machine for a few hours. ;-)

  27. I'm grateful for my new Singer, bought with some birthday money!

  28. Im grateful for just how much the sewing community has helped me develop my hobby - from something i would do to relax to something i think about day and night!

Lovely fabric! - with 2 metres to play with, the lucky winner could even have enough for a dress, given the right pattern.

  29. I'm grateful for the house my husband and I are buying - I will have my own sewing room! And I'm thankful for the wonderful ladies of the sewing blog community - a constant source of inspiration and friendship :)
